"Writing, I think, is not apart from living.  Writing is a kind of double living.  The writer experiences everything twice.  Once in reality and once in that mirror which waits always before or behind." ~Catherine Drinker Bowen, writer

Traveled: Toronto

So I  just go back from Toronto,Canada and I had a fabulous time : ). Me and my Caramel-coated sexy took a drive up  to enjoy the world renowned Caribana parade. Let me first start by saying, Toronto is quite the cultural mixing bowl. I was  surprised at how diverse the city actually was. It had very large population of Asians, might I add. We spent a lot of time in the usual hot spots of the city, like the Entertainment District, and the ever-buzzing Queen St. We did a lot of moving and shaking about the city, which was very clean. I'm talking trash cans on every corner ,with people actually being considerate enough to use them.  The transit system was pretty cool too. . .and we had no long waits  for any trains, buses,or streetcars, nor did we pay an arm and a leg to ride them(major bonus points). While roaming the city,we ate at local spots. I had some tasty Afghan food, I think I'll add that on my list of  most liked foods. The parade was great! Who knew a parade could run from 10 in the morning to 6 in the Evening! One of the locals told us that they had been celebrating Caribana for the last few weeks. These people definitely know how to party. The night of the parade,My boo and I stepped out to the club called Guvernment. The club was nicer than most of clubs here in Baltimore. The only downer was that  the DJ played all house music on the main dance floor. In the smaller room, they played R&B,Dancehall,Soca and Hip Hop. . .but none of the songs lasted for more than 30 seconds which was kinda annoying.  I noticed that  clubgoers were less grabby(Yaay no miscellaneous butt grabbing occurred ),but I also noticed that many of them weren't that interested in dancing either, which resulted in the dance floored being fully-occupied by people that should have been hugging the walls.   Perhaps it was because the DJ was doing too much with the song changes. On the way back we stopped at Niagara Falls to behold a natural wonder. While walking to the falls,we did a little exploring of Clifton Hill. which was packed with all sorts of family activities and fair food. I hope one day in the future,I'll get to spend a little more time there. The over all trip was fun and necessary before I plunge head first in to the  real world. I hope to return one day when our dollar is stronger. Perhaps I'll make a playlist of the songs that kinda fueled our journey and even post some short video clips of things throughout my trip. PEACE!

Updating this thing. . .

Greetings!

I'm kind of ashamed that I haven't been on here since March. I'm not going to make excuses,I'm just going to be more on my blogging game.Since I've been MIA I've been creating portfolios and things to maximize my internet presence and job searching. I've only been out of school for a month and some change, but the post graduate blues have already hit. JOB hunting is the worst. I've been sending my resume and clips to every place I'm qualified for but I'm getting NO BITES!! I'm working my little part-time and I'm still broke. I'm nervous about the fall. . .we'll see what happens

Ear Hustlin: Timothy Bloom ft V Bozeman

Newcomer Timothy Bloom hits the R&B music scene hard with his new single "Til the end of time" featuring sensual accompaniment of vocalist V.Bozeman. This ode to physical and eternal love yields a video similar to D'angelo's Untitled (How Does it Feel ) music video, bare chocolate skin, sensually embracing on a rotating platform, singing love into each others hearts.

TOOOOO LONG!

Greetings. . .It has been entirely too long since I've posted anything on my blogspot. But just to update. . . I'm entering into my final semester at the Marvelous Morgan State university and I'm preparing for the real world. . . Speaking of the real world, my boyfriend has definitely been keeping me in check about my post graduate plans. I've been thinking about it alot and I've decide that I will attend a graduate program in 2012. I'm gonna apply to Corcoran in DC for the New Media program, that actually makes it debut this year.Until then, I want more hands on experience that will help make me more marketable in my career and for a masters program but on a less grand scale, I'm about  to start my internship with the Afro Newspaper this week. I'll be with the Marketing department as well as the Editorial Department. I don't know why,but I'm really nervous and I have no expectations for what I'm getting in to. I am just excited about all of the skills that I will be taking from the experience. On a completely different note,I've decided to  lock my hair. I'm soo over stalking people's hair blogs and the fan page pictures on the sisterlock fb page. . .I want my own.  It just becomes a matter of financing this decision. I have already chosen my loctian lady, Ms. Sharonne Jackson-Little here in Baltimore and I already know what its going to cost. I would like them done by May but my long term deadline is before December. I just need to think of creative means of getting the funds. I'm considering taking up my professor's offer for freelancing for this publication that he works with.  The money is very much needed. It still kind of up in the air tho but I need the MONEY!! Anywho I'm sooooo excited at the way the year is unfolding this far,and I hope it continues in the same fashion. BIG THINGS POPPING,lol.
